Vintage 1968 Ludwig 13 x 9” 3 Ply Tom Drum - BDP Black Diamond Pearl

Vintage 1968 Ludwig 9x13 Floor Tom in BDP Black Diamond Pearl with Chicago Keystone badge, serial 546037. 3 ply with white interior and no date stamp. Baseball Bat Muffler w/ white felt.
This drum is in good working order, but has some mostly cosmetic issues. The shell has a nice top nice bearing edge. The bottom bearing edge has a couple spots that have been patched with wood filler (pictured). The shell is slightly out of round. So heads fit a little snugly, but slip on and off ok. The badge and grommet are tight and appear to be original and never removed. The wrap is original and tight with some slight lifting at the seam in the apots not covered by the lugs. There is some fading/browning as well as some snare rash, scuffs, dings and scratches consistent with age and use. There are some spots that have staining too. I've tried to include those in the photos to the best of my ability. The inner ply of the shell has a couple cracks at the seam and it has started to lift up slightly at one spot along the crack near the top of the shell. There is some slight flaking and checking of the white interior finish.
The chrome hardware is in good shape with some minor pitting. The baseball bat muffler appears to be original except for the mounting screw, washer, and nut. It functions perfectly. Both hoops are steel and appear to be original. Most tension rods and washers are replacements. The wing nut, interior clamping eylet bolt, and washer on the bracket are replacements, but the wing nut and bolt are Ludwig and are more functional for gigging than the original hex but. Heads are newer Remo - Pinstripe batter and Ambassador reso.
Looks and sounds great! This is a great player's grade vintage drum to complete a Super Classic Set!
