Large Antique Niello Star Locket with Original Photos

Description

The Locket is of German origin and was made circa 1900. It is in good condition given its age. It measures 61 mm including the bail and weighs 26.7 grams, 800 antique continental silver. On the locket are stars front and back and the bail has a folate motif. The inside contains the photos of a beautiful woman who is wearing lovely earrings and a brooch. The photos have been inserted so that the wear can open the locket and view the photos right side up.
There is one small round dent on the front, and the niello is chipped on the back side in the very edge. There is also some lose of niello on the bail. The chip on the back does do show when worn and the lose of the niello on the bail is not very noticeable. The chain is sold separately. Please look carefully at the photos.
