    Description

    Up for your consideration is a beautiful Antique Victorian Goldtone Floral Etched Locket And Bookchain Necklace.
    The exact age unknown, but estimated to be Circa 1890s. It gives no clue in its appearance to being well over 130 years old and presents in Fine Used Condition.
    Bookchains were very popular during the Victorian era - named because the links are folded over to resemble little books. The links of the Chain are each hand worked and stamped with an intricate design on both sides. The chain measures 20”. The locket measures 1 3/4” x 1 1/2”. Details on the front side amazing with some wear and may need a little cleaning the backside is etched in a floral pattern. The Hinge works perfectly. Inside there are clear inserts that appear to be plastic and fit nicely.
    IDENTIFICATION: As with most Victorian Jewellery there are no identifying stamps. Testing of the outer surface of both the locket and the chain confirmed a Composition of 10K Gold Filled.

    CONDITION: In preowned Antique Condition with light general wear expected for a piece this old, but nothing obvious or detracting. The links on the chain have held their shape well, and there are no dents, damage, or evidence of any old repairs.
