Antique GF Graduated Pocket Watch Chain Necklace Fob 16 3/8 Black Starr Frost NY

Description

This auction features a fabulous antique Victorian gold filled double Albert graduated pocket watch chain
with a double sided spinner fob.  This chain was originally 16 3/8" long
so it can be worn as necklace.  The graduated chains (small links, to larger links back to small links) hook together with the two swivels if you want to wear this as a necklace.  This chain was made by the famous Black, Starr, Frost Company of New York, New York circa 1876.  This firm can trace its history to Marquand and Pauling who began their partnership in Savannah, Georgia in 1801. Several related firms were established in Savannah, New Orleans and New York.  It is referenced that Black, Starr, Frost merged with Gorham in 1929.
The exceptional fob is a lovely Victorian piecrust intaglio spinner with what I think is Carnelian (or Agate) on one side and Onyx on the other side.
It is attached with a spring ring clasp so you can exchange this fob or add more fobs.
And there is a T-bar.
This chain is in excellent used condition.  No kinks to the chains.  Both swivels and spring ring clasp work well.  Minor wear to the metal from use.  There are no chips to the stones.
Comes in a new gift box and it is ready to wear!
